What is the YAC?

 The Youth Advisory Commission (YAC) is a division of Think Big Foundation specifically designed for youth aged 13-24. YAC empowers young individuals to engage in meaningful community service, advocacy, and leadership development. Our goal is to amplify the voices of young people, fostering their active participation in decision-making processes that affect their lives and communities. 

• Connecting: Create opportunities for youth to build meaningful relationships with peers, leaders, and local organizations, fostering a supportive and engaged community.
• Serving: Encourage youth to participate in impactful community service projects, promoting civic responsibility and making a tangible difference in their communities.
• Inspiring: Empower youth to take on leadership roles, advocate for issues they are passionate about, and inspire others to take action through their example and initiatives.

 YAC holds regular meetings, typically twice a month, to plan and discuss upcoming activities, projects, and initiatives. Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed for specific projects or events. 

 Yes, we welcome volunteers to assist with specific events and projects. We offer "Impact Passes" that grant access to our events, workshops, and other activities. If you’re interested in volunteering or obtaining an Impact Pass, please email us at yac@yacal.org.

 Yes, YAC has annual membership dues of $75 for junior members ages 13-19 and $125 for advisory members ages 20-24. This breaks down to approximately $6.25 per month for the younger group and $10.42 per month for the older group. The dues help cover the costs of resources, materials, and activities for the commission. Each member will also receive an "Aspire Pack," our exclusive swag bag, which includes YAC-branded merchandise, leadership materials, and other resources to support their journey with us. Scholarships and payment plans are available for those in need.
